Welcome

I'm Jenny, and I’ve had a love of travel since my first time abroad aged 13, when I was lucky enough to explore Tunisia.

I grew up in northwest London but spent the past two decades living in Bristol, Kyiv, Paris and Hamburg, before settling in Wiltshire.

My career in travel began at 17 years old and I became a homeworking travel expert in 2009, joining Travel Counsellors in 2023.

Discovering new places and different cultures still excites me and I am fortunate to have visited much of the world.

I genuinely care about every client’s booking from start to finish, advising them to embrace the pace of the destination they’re in, so they can fully relax and enjoy their time away.

After 30 years, I think I can book any type of holiday but feel free to put me to the test…

Where I've Been

I am fortunate to have explored a multitude of destinations and immersed myself in diverse cultures. I've spent several years living in three captivating European cities, which provided invaluable insights into their rich history, people and distinctive characteristics.

Long-haul destinations have always inspired me, offering unforgettable adventures. I've traversed the vast landscapes of Australia and New Zealand, and delved into the vibrant tapestry of the Far East and Asia, including Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and Sri Lanka.

My journeys have led me across the sweeping savannahs of Kenya, Tanzania, and the dynamic landscapes of South Africa.
I've savoured the tranquillity of paradise islands in the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean, explored the huge expanses of the USA and Canada, and danced to the colourful rhythms of Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil and Costa Rica.

Additionally, I've had the pleasure of experiencing the enchanting allure of Arabic destinations such as Morocco, Egypt and Dubai; explored the charm of various Turkish cities and resorts; and indulged in the cultural richness of numerous European cities and beach destinations.

Whether by plane, train, boat, bus, car or on foot, I draw from authentic experiences to offer personalised advice and insights.

Favourite Places

I love wildlife and nature, so my favourite destinations and experiences veer towards those special places surrounded by both.

My career has enabled me to stay in some amazing luxury hotels but for family holidays we prefer 3- or 4-star hotels to focus on the location and experience rather than the luxury or service.

My most memorable highlights would include:

South Africa

An incredible safari destination for seeing animals in their natural habitat.

I stayed at Richard Branson’s Ulusaba in the Kruger National Park as part of my honeymoon. It was a wonderful place to stay and experience Africa.

The rooms are uniquely decorated. It has a Rock Lodge with fabulous views over the park, and the Safari Lodge, where we stayed, down by the river, was a magical experience to share.

Being able to watch the elephants having their daily wash from our accommodation and witness the big cats on safari was very special.

Costa Rica

What a delightful country. The people, the cuisine, the sights, sounds and spectacular scenery make for a memorable adventure and a brilliant family experience, leaving a lasting impression on us.

We particularly loved the Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero with rustic riverside lodges and an abundance of wildlife in their garden, including iguanas, tented camp bats, tree frogs and porcupines.

The guided night tour around the property was so exciting: spotting turtles peacefully laying their eggs on the beach and the thrill of encountering rare nocturnal wildlife. On the river safari, we saw sloths, monkeys, caymans, dolphins, toucans, and many other colourful birds.

Borneo & Langkawi Island

When working for a Malaysian tour operator, I had the opportunity to visit Borneo, staying at a couple of different hotels and seeing the endemic orangutans and proboscis monkeys in their natural habitat, which was awe-inspiring. As was the feeling of releasing baby turtles into the sea and witnessing their journey back to the ocean.

On Langkawi Island, I stayed at the magnificent Datai resort, a unique, tranquil and iconic luxury property, located in the lush rainforest, with its own private beach.

The service and facilities matched the majesty of the surroundings. There were iguanas, hornbills and monkeys in the grounds; and during the guided wildlife tours, gazing in awe up at the majestic trees was unforgettable.

Italy, Spain & France

These are my favourite European countries. I love the history, culture and food and have explored them a lot, particularly before my kids came along.

Tuscany is gorgeous and a great base to visit the beautiful authentic Italian towns of Sienna, San Gimignano, Lucca and Florence. We serendipitously discovered a fantastic local restaurant in the Tuscan countryside near our villa where they offered no menu, just whatever they were cooking on the day. Everything tasted amazing and I can still recall the sensational beef carpaccio.

My husband spent time working in Spain, so I have visited all the regions; and with a friend living in my favourite Spanish city, Barcelona, there is always an excuse to visit.

I have managed to see quite a bit of France, having also lived in Paris, but there is a lot more still on the list - including the lavender in Provence.

Where I Want To Go...

Still on my list are the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Columbia, a Norwegian Fjords cruise, Finnish Lapland to see the Northern Lights, bear watching in Canada and an Alaska cruise.

What I Like To Do...

Outside of travel, my passions obviously include animals - with a soft spot for giraffes. I would love to share my breakfast with one at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi!

I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking and yoga; and I have taken up tennis at the local village LTA club.

I had Russian, French and German lessons when living in Kyiv, Paris and Hamburg, but sadly, I can't say that I'm fluent in any of them!

What I Can't Travel Without

Without doubt, my Kindle.
